On the heels of the Center on the Legal Profession’s recent book launch events in India celebrating the culmination of years of ongoing research into the globalization of the legal profession, Harvard Law Today has published an in-depth feature on the Center, it’s ongoing Globalization, Lawyers, and Emerging Economies (GLEE) research project, and the first (of several) books to come out of this path-breaking work.

The article describes the foundations of the GLEE project, the research team, and initial countries of exploration (India, Brazil, China) and ties together all of the empirical research done by the Center on the various impacts of globalization around the world. The launch of the India book – The Indian Legal Profession in the Age of Globalization: The Rise of the Corporate Legal Sector and its Impact on Lawyers and Society – is the first of three books that will come out of this initial phase of research, with books on Brazil and China to follow in the near future.
