About Hugh Simons:
Dr. Hugh A. Simons is a strategist and veteran professional services firm leader. He is currently conducting research for a book on the fundamentals of elite law firm strategy and leadership.
He is formerly a senior partner and executive committee member at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), the preeminent global consulting firm and the world’s leading advisor on business strategy. Over nearly two decades at BCG, he counseled clients on issues of strategy and direction across industries from industrial packaging to media and telecommunications. In later years he served as the firm’s chief financial officer and chief administrative officer. He subsequently served for seven years as chief operating officer and a member of the policy (executive) committee at the AmLaw A-List law firm, Ropes & Gray.
Hugh holds a PhD from Cambridge University, an MBA from the Wharton School where he was the Ford Scholar, and an undergraduate degree from Trinity College, Dublin, where he was a Gold Medal Award recipient. He resides in Cambridge, MA.
