The Evolving Legal Landscape: A Conversation with Kim Koopersmith
The Center on the Legal Profession, along with the Harvard Association for Law and Business and Akin Gump, will be hosting a conversation with Akin Gump’s Chairperson Kim Koopersmith and Prof. David Wilkins on “The Evolving Legal Landscape”. They will discuss how the practice of law has changed in recent years and their expectations for the future. Specifically, they will address how firms are adapting through the use of new delivery models, fee arrangements, and technology, and what young attorneys can do to better prepare themselves for future practice.
About Kim Koopersmith:
Kim Koopersmith is the chairperson of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. Ms. Koopersmith guides the strategic direction of the firm, heads the firm’s management committee and plays a leading role in ensuring the firm’s continued commitment to the highest levels of client service and in strengthening its dedication to diversity, pro bono work and attorney excellence. She has played a key role in the enhancement of the firm’s overall performance, earning recognition for her innovative and transformative approach to law firm leadership. Some notable awards include being named to The Lawyer’s “Hot 100” list in 2015 and as an “agent of change” by Women of Influence magazine in 2014 for her efforts to promote a diverse work environment and flexible work schedules. She is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law and University of Pennsylvania.
