The Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession was saddened to learn of the passing of Philip (Phil) B. Heymann earlier this month. At the time of his passing, Professor Heymann was the James Barr Ames Professor of Law, Emeritus at Harvard Law School, where he first began serving on the faulty in 1969. In 1981, Professor Heymann founded and served as the Inaugural Faculty Director of the Program on the Legal Profession, the first such program at a major law school. In 2015 the Program became the Center on the Legal Profession.
