Please join the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession for a webinar on Law, Leadership, and Legacy: The Impact of Harvard’s Black Lawyers on the Legal Profession and the World. The event will include a conversation between Professor David B. Wilkins, Lester Kissel Professor of Law and faculty director of the Center on the Legal Profession at Harvard Law School, Cari Dawson, partner at Alston & Bird, and Kenneth C. Frazier, former CEO and Chair of Merck and currently a Fellow of the Harvard Corporation. The three panelists will discuss the state of Black lawyers in America.


About the panelists

David B. Wilkins

Professor Wilkins is the Lester Kissel Professor of Law, Vice Dean for Global Initiatives on the Legal Profession, and Faculty Director of the Center on the Legal Profession at Harvard Law School. He is also a Senior Research Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a Fellow of the Harvard University Edmond J. Safra Foundation Center for Ethics.

Cari K. Dawson

Cari Dawson co-chairs the Class Action & MDL Practice Team at Alston & Bird and has a winning track record defending Fortune 500 companies as lead counsel in high-profile enterprise litigation nationwide. Cari assists clients in the areas of commercial litigation, strategic counseling, and crisis management.

Kenneth C. Frazier

Kenneth C. Frazier is the former Chairman and CEO of Merck. He is the Co-Founder and Co-Chair of OneTen, a coalition of leading organizations committed to upskilling, hiring, and promoting one million Black Americans into family-sustaining jobs. In addition, he is Chairman, Health Assurance Initiatives, at the venture capital firm, General Catalyst, where he advises on investments and partnerships for companies that are well-positioned to help transform the healthcare industry through collaborative and responsible innovation.
